What are the applications for SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres?
Construction products: SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres are used as a matting agent and lightweighting additive in various construction products, paints, coatings, plasters, concrete, asphalt, as well as in resin-based formulations. It is frequently incorporated into elastomer compositions.
Surface coating: SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres can also be treated with surface coatings to modify the particle surface. In organic and inorganic composites, these coupling agents improve adhesion.
Other uses: SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres are used in the manufacture of sealants, adhesives, automotive body fillers, cultured marble, wall filler compounds, stucco, ready-mixed gypsum plasters, resins, plastics, cosmetics and a variety of other composites.
What are the properties of SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres?
SIL-CELL® Perlite Microspheres contain a combination of silica, alumina, iron oxide, titanium oxide, lime, magnesia, sodium oxide and potassium oxide.
It is an excellent filler material due to its inert properties, low density and structure. The multicellular structure of SIL-CELL® provides superior tensile strength compared to other types of microfillers.
SIL-CELL® Perlite Microsphere is an ultra-lightweight, microcellular filler, naturally occurring as aluminium silicate; it is inert, inorganic, non-toxic and pH-neutral. The particles are formed by creating a structure of spherical, multicellular bubbles.
