What are the applications for BRIOREF®PRIMAZIR zircon?
EVOLMAT MINERALS supplies zircon in the following forms:
- sands with calibrated particle sizes, including the ‘G’ grade (Coarse) up to AFS 62
- ground powders, known as ‘flours’ (mainly 200 and 325 mesh, but also micronised)
The processing steps carried out include, in particular:
- grinding
- high-temperature calcination to purify the mineral
- classification / screening / blending to adjust particle sizes
EVOLMAT MINERALS is able to offer ‘bespoke’ solutions to provide products tailored to very specific customer requirements
What are the applications for BRIOREF®PRIMAZIR zircon?
ZIRCON is used in a variety of applications, such as the production of refractories, precision foundry moulds, brake pads, abrasives and ceramics, and as a raw material for the extraction of zirconium (Zr) or the production of zirconia.
EVOLMAT MINERALS supplies CALCINED or UNCALCINED ZIRCON.
What are the properties of BRIOREF®PRIMAZIR zircon?
ZIRCON is particularly valuable for its physico-chemical stability, its hardness – which is close to that of diamond (7.5 on the Mohs scale) – its toughness, its opacifying properties and its very high refractoriness.
EVOLMAT MINERALS preserves zircon in its natural form by subjecting it to mechanical (grinding) and thermal (calcination) treatments.
How is our BRIOREF®PRIMAZIR zircon packaged and delivered?
What is Zircon?
ZIRCON is a natural mineral known as a zirconium silicate, with the chemical formula ZrSiO₄, composed mainly of zirconium dioxide (ZrO₂). It is the primary ore of zirconium (Zr). It is extracted from the same raw material as rutile and ilmenite.
CMMP sells ZIRCON under its BRIOREF® brand, notably the PRIMAZIR grade, which refers to its PREMIUM quality.
ZIRCON is one of CMMP’s key minerals, and the company has a strong network of suppliers. CMMP has access to the finest grades of ZIRCON from around the world.
